Reflection of Learning

Term three

Basic facts

I have been doing a mixed basic facts sheet everyday.
My goal for this term was to achieve 50 out of 100.  My best score last term was 24/100.
This term my average is 40!  What a huge improvement.  I feel proud of my success.  I have made another bar graph to track my progress.
I am getting more right because I have been learning multiplication.
My goal for term four is 100%

Tech

I have been sewing.  I have made a pin cushion and a screen printed cushion.
My sewing skills have improved greatly since last year.
I have enjoyed sewing. Its fun.
I am not sure what my goal is for woodwork in term four.

Reading

I have taken more control of my reading this term.
I was unhappy reading Sunshine Books because they are for little kids.
We went to Nga Manawa and asked Mrs Costello to help us pick some appropriate books.
When we start a new book Abi reads the whole book to me an we discuss it.  Then everyday I read three or four pages to Abi and I independently write three sentences about what I have read.  After I have typed this up in my literacy folder I can watch a video related to the book.
I have read The Day the Crayons Quit, Indianna Jones Indy's Adventures and Splat the Cat.
I feel good about doing literacy like this.
My goal for term four is

Transition to High School

Every second Tuesday I have been to Grey High with Mrs Hooker.  I have learned about TWK.
Its been fun.
I enjoyed going to the special olympics basketball tournament and playing in the Grey High team.
I am looking forward to more high school visits next term

Making a Bar Graph

Making a Bar Graph

Today Zak made a bar graph using his basic facts results.

St. John Trainiing

St. John Training

Today St. John visited Grey Main and taught us about first aid.  Zak learned about how to keep safe out in the bush, blood sugar levels, diabetes and how to put someone in the recovery position.
Zak was in a great group and contributed a lot in the discussions and activities. Here is a photo of Zak in recovery position.
